WOLF Fanwall DCA: Scalable, efficient and easy to maintain

The WOLF Fanwall DCA is a precise, efficient and flexibly scalable cooling solution for enterprise, colocation and hyperscale data centres. The modular units deliver cooling capacities of up to 500 kW per unit and are designed for high rack densities that are set to increase further.

The compact fanwall systems are installed outside the server room in the service corridor and do not require a raised floor. Thanks to a high degree of factory pre-assembly, they are plug-and-play ready. Using large-surface, highly efficient heat exchangers, they dissipate the waste heat from IT loads reliably, energy-efficiently and in a space-saving manner. Thanks to optimal component arrangement and low flow resistance, energy consumption is reduced by up to 8 per cent compared to a standard solution.

The WOLF Fanwall DCA is suitable for use in data centres that are designed and operated in accordance with the EN 50600, ISO/IEC 22237 and ASHRAE TC 9.9 standards

Smart

 

The compact Fanwall DCA modules are stackable, allowing for precise, demand-driven expansion of cooling capacity or the installation of redundancy. Filters with a depth of 48 mm can be fitted on request. A pressure-independent 2-way control valve (PICV) ensures a constant airflow as well as stable and efficient heat dissipation (optionally with an integrated flow meter for energy monitoring).

 

The unit width (Euro pallet) allows for high loading densities on the lorry. The particularly short-design fans enable a shallow unit depth. Fork pockets allow for safe transport by forklift.

The Fanwall DCA offers full maintenance access from the service corridor via the reinforced fan door. The filters can also be replaced quickly and easily through the fan door.

 

EC-Fans with Active PFC
 

EC fans (with Active PFC) developed specifically for data centre applications and certified to ISO 5801, featuring optimised airflow management, ensure maximum efficiency and high usable static pressure even during load fluctuations. Precisely tuned guide vanes and diffuser technology improve airflow with low flow resistance and reduce energy consumption (8 per cent lower than conventional designs thanks to sequence optimisation). Large heat exchanger surfaces with optimised fin spacing ensure ideal heat transfer.

 

Data centre-compliant

 

Structural integrity and quality are tested in accordance with DIN EN 1886, and the control system is protected by a UPS. Dual Feed ensures maximum operational reliability. The control system is fully integrated and wired, factory-tested and pre-configured. A FAT test of the DCA unit is available as an option, as is a functional and integration test of the control system and BMS connection.

The control system is Data Centre Tier 3-ready and supports BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP (with module) and Modbus RTU, TCP/IP and RS interfaces (implemented as standard).

 

The Fanwall DCA offers smart control systems: either constant pressure control (air side), or variable air velocity control based on ΔT, as well as individually configured solutions. The individual units operate either in master/slave mode or in teamwork mode. Furthermore, individually programmed solutions are possible. Each unit has its own integrated control cabinet; optionally, this can also be mounted externally.
